This means for example you can find a SQL training specifically targeted to hosters. We have recieved word also that there will come more specific trainings for hosters during the next couple of months.

At VMworld Barcelona VMware announced some upcoming changes to the VSPP program which are really interesting for all Service Providers.
There will be a new vCloud bundle launched called VMware vCloud Service Provider Bundle Premier and is comprised of VMware vCenter Operations Suite Enterprise (including vCenter Configuration Manager and vCenter Chargeback), vCenter Server, vCloud Network and Security Advanced, vCloud Director, vSphere Enterprise Plus and Production Support. The bundle is priced at 10 points per GB reserved vRAM per month and represents a discount off of the a la carte components.
With the new management bundle, there has been a change to the bundle names. The three offerings will be called VMware vCloud Service Provider Bundle: Standard, Advanced and Premier. The Standard bundle is the same. The former Premier bundle will now be called Advanced but offer the same functionality and price. The new management bundle will be called Premier. They made these change to be more consistent with our package naming across the company.
In addition to the new bundle, there are new stand alone products in VSPP:
-
vFabric App Director for Provisioning– enables more efficient application deployment and management through console that manages all the tiers in the application layer (e.g. app server, middleware, database) and an intuitive drag and drop UI.
- vCenter Protect Standard – an easy to use patch management solution optimized for Windows VM images.
Key takeaways for Service Providers:
- There is a new vCloud bundle in VSPP that includes management and automation capabilities, building on the two existing service provider bundles.
- There are also new stand alone management products being added to VSPP – vFabric App Director for Provisioning and vCenter Protect Standard.
- The new management bundle and the stand alone products are expected to be available in VSPP in Q4 2012.

VMware has just launched an upgraded version of their usage metering tool.
For the first time it has gone through both an internal and external beta testing phase so hopefully all bugs has been cleaned out before beeing published.
Our advise is to upgrade as soon as possible as earlier versions hassome identified bugs as well as this new version handles all the updated which arrives in April.
